Having trouble with FabStep? The answer is probably below. If not, write to me: I reply personally.
My steps aren't moving, or everything shows 0
FabStep needs two permissions. Check them on your iPhone:
- Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > FabStep: turn on at least “Steps”, “Walking + Running Distance” and “Active Energy”.
- Settings > FabStep: turn on “Motion & Fitness”.
- Also check Settings > Privacy & Security > Motion & Fitness: “Fitness Tracking” must be on.
Then close FabStep (swipe it up in the App Switcher) and open it again.
Live heart rate isn't showing
Live heart rate comes from your Apple Watch. Open FabStep on the watch and start a walk from the “Ready” screen: the heart rate sensor then runs continuously.
If nothing shows up, check that “Heart Rate” and “Workouts” access is allowed in Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > FabStep, and that the watch fits snugly on your wrist.
I can't hear the countdown beeps
The beeps follow the watch's sound settings. If Silent Mode is on (the crossed-out bell icon in the watch's Control Center), they are muted. Turn it off, or raise the volume in Settings > Sounds & Haptics on the watch.
Why do my steps go back to zero?
That's expected: the daily counter resets at midnight, in your iPhone's local time. The previous day stays visible in the history.
How do I install FabStep on my Apple Watch?
- Install FabStep on the iPhone paired with your watch.
- Open the Watch app on the iPhone, “My Watch” tab.
- Scroll down to FabStep and tap “Install”.
If “Automatic App Install” is turned on in the Watch app, FabStep appears on the watch by itself after a few minutes.
How do I delete my data?
FabStep stores nothing on a server, so there is no data to ask me to erase. To remove everything, uninstall the app from the iPhone and the watch.
Your steps and other measurements stay in Apple's Health app, which remains in control of them. Details in the privacy policy.
